March Great Patrons Celebration
During the month of March, we honor two great saints: St. Patrick (March 17) and St. Joseph (March 19). St Patrick is the Patron of Ireland and St.Joseph is the Patron of the Universal Church. Even though St. Patrick is the patron of Ireland, he is celebrated in many countries. All of us become Irish for one day. Even though St. Joseph, the  husband of Mary, is the patron of the Universal Church, he is often a forgotten saint. Carmelites claim St. Joseph as one of their patrons and we have found him to be a very powerful intercessor and friend. Families and friends are invited to join us for an outdoor luncheon and entertainment as we honor and celebrate these two great saints with our residents.

Visit by St. Philomena's Students
November 17, 2010
On November 17th thirty-six seventh graders boarded a yellow school bus and began a mission of love. Their destination --- Marycrest Manor in Culver City. Their mission --- bring God's love to the ladies of Marycrest and make them smile. The students each paired up with a resident and made a Thanksgiving Day door decoration with her. In the course of working on the project, the children talked with their partner and learned all kinds of interesting facts. After completing the art project, the students prayed a Rosary with the residence. When reflecting on the day, many of the students commented on how great it is to be able to make someone happy, and they talked about the importance of respecting the elderly. The children are looking forward to going again.
