On Saturday, April 28th our administrator Sr. Mary Clare participated in an interfaith panel at the First Congregational Church in Long Beach California. “Listening is an Act of Love” was the topic of the discussion about the discovery of how stories of faith cross generations and create legacies to aid those who are in the midst of pain and suffering. The panel comprised several experienced individuals whose faith impacts their ability to listen with love to those in distress or changes in life. These topics ranged from dealing with serious illness, fulfillment and joy at the end of life, restoring relationships, and the importance of caring communities. The other members of the panel included: Katy Hyman, Emily Janssen, Rabbi Joshua Kalev, Tikvat Jacob, Sondos Kholaki, and Reverand Mark Pettis
