Long-term Skilled Nursing
Residents at any phase of a serious illness can receive care and comfort at Marycrest Manor. An assortment of choices for care are available.
Specialists on staff include medical directors, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants. dietician, activities coordinator, social worker, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists. All attend to the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of residents and families to enhance the quality of life during a long-term stay. On-site occupational, speech, and physical therapists provide specialized programs to help residents receive the greatest possible level of independence and rehabilitation.
Marycrest also offers carefully planned daily programs and activities to provide socialization and structure, while helping residents feel a sense of independence and value. Residents are encouraged to participate in individual and group programs designed to assist them to reach their full potential.
Rehabilitation Services
Ranging from gentle strengthening to assertive post-surgical care, the rehabilitation services at Marycrest Manor focus on improving the quality of life of those we serve. By increasing our patients’ independence in self-care, ambulation, and communication, their sense of self-worth is preserved and enhanced. Therapists and patients experience loving companionship as they journey together through the rehabilitation process. Keeping active and experiencing relationships with others helps to overcome the loneliness, helplessness, and boredom suffered by so many elders.

Types of Therapy
Rehabilitation Therapy at Marycrest Manor is a comprehensive program that incorporates Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Restorative therapy exercises. The information below further explains these types of therapy.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy focuses on treatment to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life. This includes providing treatment in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy focuses on treatment to increase or maintain management of daily tasks by oneself. Some of these daily tasks include bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Speech Therapy
Speech and Language Pathology provides screening, assessment, and treatment for disorders of speech, language, swallowing, and cognition. Speech therapy focuses on regaining and/or compensating for lost skills to improve quality of life for more effective communication and diet enjoyment.
Restorative Therapy
Restorative Nursing Services ensure that our residents maintain their highest practical level of functioning in long-term care. Restorative Nursing Services provide specific treatments to residents to restore and maintain their strength, coordination, and skills to ambulate and perform functional activities of daily living
Accommodations
Marycrest Manor has the capacity to accommodate 57 residents. Accommodations include both private and semi-private rooms.
Each room has large picture windows overlooking the spacious and beautiful gardens and landscape as well as sliding glass doors opening to a spacious outdoor patio. Every room comes furnished with a bed, dresser, closet, nightstand and over-bed table, however, if you are considering a long-term stay you are welcome to bring your own furniture and items to make space your home
Because Marycrest is located at the highest point in Culver City the view is breathtaking overlooking the Pacific Ocean and panoramic views from San Pedro to Santa Monica.
Nutritional Care
Marycrest Manor is dedicated to maximizing the quality of care in every area, including nutritional care. Nutritional care is provided according to the physician’s orders. Three nutritious meals are served daily in a variety of combinations that are appetizing and flavorful. We provide clinical nutrition as well as food services. All meals are specially prepared in order to meet the particular dietary needs and/or preferences of each resident.
Nutritional care includes:
- Three nutritionally balanced meals each day
- Snacks
- A variety of juices, as well as coffee/tea, water during the day
- Customized nutrition as needed
